Dear Users,

Dear Users,
The 2nd of March will be marked as another pivotal date in the calendar of my career.
Dear Users,
Today marks the end of my apprenticeship here (of a year and a day) at this school which has been an incredible experience. I have taken a big leap into the world of IT and been taught an abundance by my manager and colleague (not only of Information Technology but also how to persist on through trying issues, how to speak, act and demonstrate professional behaviour even in a crisis and finally how to work as a functional team).
Dear Users,
Although this post is informative instead of instructional, I felt it was a worthy topic of discussion as it has been irrefutably helpful in organising, cataloguing and distributing the work in our IT department.
Dear Users,
Pardon my absence. I have been severly lacking on posts and seek to rectify that with a quick, helpful post on a helpful set of commands when dealing with HP ProCurve switches.
The following is helpful if there is a VoIP telephone system in your organisation and you’re unaware which phones are connected to which ports on the switch.
These are commands used on the switch after remoting in via a network communication client. I use PuTTy through SSH.
Dear Users,
Proceeding from my post prior to this, I will attach a list of the notes made of the basic tasks and activities I have been assigned from pupils, teachers, staff or my manager. These are tasks I will have written into a notepad if they were short tasks, reminders or not worth creating a ticket for.
Names have been removed to preserve privacy. Inside of the “{}” brackets marks the solution. Once completed, a quick tick is marked in the box to confirm.
FOREWARNING: Long post ahead!
Users,
I thought I’d share a day’s routine with you all to give an insight into what I might do on a daily basis. These activities included are, but not subject to, what I did a few days back. I’ll go into a brief amount of detail about how I tackled each task and what was included.
FOREWARNING: This post is lengthy and contains technical lingo which is not elaborated due to the nature of this post. I apologise to those it does not make sense!
Users,
With the coming of the start of the next term here, there is the hustle and bustle of new pupils and teachers flocking in as well as those leaving. There is the cumbersome move of rooms and therefore computers, projectors, printers… and with that requires some Active Directory Management!
Users,
My office at 8:00 AM on my first Monday back to work after my last week of holiday!
Straight back at work bright and early (well not so bright as much) after the last of my year’s holiday. It feels good to be back although it is not without its difficulties. Continue reading
Users,
After preparation yesterday for an Apprenticeship video, I had the pleasure of taking a gander inside of and disassembling and then reassembling a computer entirely. What struck me as the most surprising during this task was the distance I’ve come from being an interviewee to today as an employee. The amount I have learnt in comparison to the past self and the present is astounding…
Anyhow, back to the matter at hand. Continue reading
Hello Users!
Written on the second day back at work from holiday and I find myself amidst this partially uncharted territory during the Summer!
